2017 PA CARES Training Summit       Supporting Active Military Members, Veterans and their families.

 Location: Army Heritage Education Center, Soldiers Drive, Carlisle, PA  May 10, 2017


 The 5th annual PA CARES Training Summit will expand the knowledge base and skills of behavioral health providers who deliver services to active military members, veterans, and their families.

Targeted audience includes, but is not limited to: community mental health and substance abuse agencies, social workers, professional counselors, nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, clergy/pastoral or spiritual practitioners, and the staff of PA Veteran Centers.

 The program is planned in cooperation with the PA CARES Task Force (Pennsylvania Americans showing Compassion, Assistance and Reaching out with Empathy for Service members).

2017 Pennsylvania Suicide Prevention Conference – June 19 and 20,2017

The Pennsylvania Adult/Older Adult Suicide Prevention Coalition and the Pennsylvania Youth Suicide Prevention Initiative are hosting the 2017 Pennsylvania Suicide Prevention Conference to meet the needs of professionals, survivors, and interested parties who would like to learn more about suicide prevention, intervention, and meeting the needs of suicide survivors. The keynote speaker, breakout sessions, and workshops will be held on the first day of the conference, June 19th. Participants are invited to stay for the second day of the Conference, June 20th, if they're interested in attending a suicide prevention training.  The link to the conference page is below.

 The registration fee includes sessions, handouts, continental breakfast, breaks, and lunch. Rates are per person unless otherwise specified. Registration deadline is June 12, 2017. Conference registration fee is $150 per person.

This year’s conference is scheduled for August 9 – 11, 2017  at the Penn Stater Conference Center and Hotel in State College, PA.

We encourage you to share the Conference Overview & Call for Proposal Guidelines  form with all of your network stakeholders. I know there are a lot of you doing great work around transition and so I am hoping that we will get a good response of behavioral health proposals this year! Please consider presenting as this is one way to disseminate the promising work that is being accomplished through your programs.
