Central Chester County NAMI Family Support Group, West Chester 1st Wednesday of the month

 You are not alone!  Family members of individuals with a serious mental illness not only endure the initial shock of the illness, but also face a challenging future learning to cope with the responsibility of caring for an ill relative.      7 – 9 pm     Peer Center, 825 Paoli Pike,  West Chester, PA 19380

FAMILY TO FAMILY EDUCATION  CLASSES   

This FREE 12-week, 36-hour course is designed for families with loved ones who have a brain illness.  In this course, you will learn about brain illnesses, medication, medication adherence, stress reduction, empathy for your relative, setting boundaries, caring for yourself, communication and problem-solving skills, therapeutic resources, and advocacy. NAMI Family-to-Family is a class for families, partners and friends of individuals with mental illness. The course is designed to facilitate a better understanding of mental illness, increase coping skills and empower participants to become advocates for their family members. This program was designated as an evidence-based program by SAMHSA. The course is also available in Spanish, De Familia a Familia de NAMI. We offer the program in the Spring and Fall.  The Classes are FREE!  You only need to commit to attend for 12 weeks and since class size is limited, you must pre-register.                                                                     Our next class begins February 28,2017      To register please send an email to namichesco@comcast.net

Vision and Mission: Decreased suicide through increased awareness and education. The Task Force collaborates with the community to develop suicide prevention strategies and works to reduce the risk, stigma and occurrence of suicide in Chester County.
Provides free suicide prevention programming, including QPR training for community groups and awareness events
